Do not compare the lowest and highest numbers as though they cover the same grade. Read each school’s fee-structure row, then request the exact grade invoice. Registration, meals, transport, books, support and external examinations can materially change the first-year and recurring totals.

// 02 · The decision framework

Five questions.
Five answers.

1. Which curriculum and teaching language fit the child?

EFIP publishes French National Curriculum (maternelle → terminale) · Baccalauréat général · FLSCO (French as Language of Schooling) bridge class for non-native French speakers for 3-18; ISC Pattaya publishes English National Curriculum · EYFS · Key Stages 1-2 for 2-11. Ask for a current weekly timetable, not only a curriculum logo, so you can see which subjects are actually taught in each language.

2. Which number belongs to the child’s exact grade?

EFIP publishes ฿175,000–฿235,000/yr standard tuition; ISC Pattaya publishes ฿180,000–฿370,800/yr standard tuition; 3% annual prepayment: ฿174,600–฿359,676. Compare the grade-specific total after mandatory registration and extras, not the endpoints alone. If the range covers very different ages, the child’s own row matters more than either endpoint.

3. Is the fee evidence current enough for a commitment?

EFIP: 2026/27, checked 27 July 2026. ISC Pattaya: 2026/27, checked 27 July 2026. The comparison uses standard published tuition before full-year-payment discounts; discounted figures are labelled as such. Save the dated school document or email alongside the offer.

4. Does the school cover the family’s full time horizon?

Compare each published age span with the year your child needs. If either school ends before graduation, shortlist the next school and price that transition now. EFIP: no boarding in the record. ISC Pattaya: no boarding in the record.

5. What belongs in the written admissions quote?

Ask both schools for a dated, grade-specific invoice separating tuition, registration, deposit, meals, transport, books, uniforms, support and examination charges. Also confirm the teaching language, qualification route and next transfer point in writing.

Summary verdict

  • EFIP deserves the shortlist when its published curriculum, age span and total grade-specific invoice fit the child.
  • ISC Pattaya deserves the shortlist when its published curriculum, age span and total grade-specific invoice fit better.
// 03 · The continuity decision

A through-school versus
a planned primary exit.

EFIP and ISC can both serve a primary-age child, but they create very different next decisions. EFIP publishes a French pathway from age three through the end of secondary school, with the precise mix of homologated levels and CNED-supported upper provision requiring grade-specific confirmation. ISC publishes an English National Curriculum primary route from age two through Year 6. A family choosing ISC is therefore choosing a primary school and accepting that Year 7 will be a separate placement decision.

That difference is neither automatically an advantage nor a defect. An all-through route can reduce transitions when the curriculum, language and later qualification continue to fit. A primary-only school can let a family prioritise the child’s immediate classroom and make a fresh secondary choice later. The practical test is whether parents are comfortable committing to French-system continuity now, or prefer English primary education with a deliberate transfer on the calendar.

For an ISC pupil, begin secondary planning before the final primary year. Ask how progress is recorded, which assessments and reports receiving schools normally request, how Year 6 prepares pupils for different secondary settings, and whether the school can provide references on the timetable those schools use. Price application, registration, transport and any curriculum catch-up at the likely next school. The future transition is part of the ISC cost and pathway even though it does not appear on the current invoice.

For an EFIP pupil, review continuity at each major stage rather than assuming the same delivery model applies all the way through. Ask admissions to identify the status of the child’s proposed grade, the role of CNED if applicable, where examinations are entered, what language support is available and how records transfer to another French-system establishment. The school’s broad age span is useful only when the exact route remains suitable for that child.

// 04 · Fee-basis discipline

Build two invoices,
not two headline ranges.

Both fee schedules are dated 2026/27, which removes one common comparison problem. The remaining trap is age. EFIP’s standard tuition rises from ฿175,000 in its youngest bands to ฿235,000 in Years 12–13. ISC’s standard range begins at ฿180,000 for a half-day early-years option and reaches ฿370,800 in Years 3–6. Those endpoints describe different attendance patterns and stages. Compare the child’s proposed EFIP class with the child’s proposed ISC class, not the lowest number from one with the highest from the other.

Keep ISC’s 3% full-year-payment saving separate from its standard tariff. The published discounted range of ฿174,600–฿359,676 is available only when the payment timing qualifies. A fair worksheet begins with standard tuition at both schools, then places each discount on its own line with the deadline and refund conditions. Cash-flow preference is not a reduction in the underlying standard price unless the family can actually use it.

First-year charges move in different ways. EFIP publishes ฿50,000 first registration, ฿5,000 administration and a ฿4,000 new-student uniform package. ISC publishes a ฿3,000 application charge, ฿70,000 registration and ฿2,000 annual insurance, with a lower sibling registration figure stated in its record. Add meals, transport, books, language or learning support, examinations, activities and payment charges. Where a service is optional, decide whether this family will need it; where a price is unpublished, request a quote and leave the cell open until it arrives.

Support costs must be labelled precisely. EFIP publishes a ฿20,000 intensive-French supplement for relevant non-French-speaking pupils; that is language support, not a general learning-support tariff. ISC publishes a combined “English as an Additional Language / Learning Support” band of ฿21,000–฿70,000 a year. Ask what assessment places a child into the service, how many sessions are delivered, who reviews progress, whether the charge can change mid-year and what exit criteria apply. A range without the child’s assessed placement is not yet a budget.

// 05 · Visit and offer checks

Test the ordinary
school day.

Visit the class the child would join and listen for the language of instruction, pupil talk and teacher feedback. At EFIP, ask how a newcomer experiences French across the full day and how FLSCO or other language support interacts with ordinary lessons. At ISC, ask how English National Curriculum objectives are sequenced, how pupils are prepared for Year 7 and how the school distinguishes English-language needs from other learning needs. Request anonymised work samples from the start and end of the year so curriculum labels become visible expectations.

Then test the commute at school times. EFIP’s Huai Yai location and ISC’s Banglamung address produce different routes depending on where the family lives. EFIP publishes annual bus prices of ฿35,000 one way or ฿46,000 return. ISC publishes a much wider ฿52,580–฿200,000 annual transport range by zone. Ask for the exact stop, pickup window, return arrangements after activities and written fare. A school that looks close on a map can create a longer daily burden once traffic and route sequencing are included.

The final comparison should use two child-specific offers. Each should name the class, teaching language, required support, standard tuition, discount conditions, mandatory first-year and recurring charges, transport quote and next transition. Save the response with the school’s dated fee document. If the proposed class or pathway is unclear, resolve that before treating the place as comparable.

// 06 · Who each school is not for

The fastest honest
way to shortlist.

EFIP is not the natural fit for a family that wants English to be the organising curriculum and does not intend to use a French-system pathway. It also requires careful confirmation for an older pupil: parents should understand the precise homologated or CNED-supported arrangement, examination route, language demand and extra costs for the child’s grade.

ISC is not an all-through solution. Its current published span ends after Year 6, so it does not suit a family that requires one campus to carry a child through secondary qualifications without another admissions process. It may still be the stronger immediate primary choice, but only when parents accept and plan that later transfer.

Neither school is a safe decision from tuition alone. EFIP asks the family to choose French-system continuity; ISC asks the family to choose an English primary environment and preserve a future secondary decision. The better offer is the one whose language, classroom, commute, full invoice and next transition all work for this child.
