Published support-cost labelNo language- or learning-support tariff appears on the current primary-undated fee page.Combined school label — “English as an Additional Language / Learning Support”: ฿21,000–฿70,000/year.

Do not compare the lowest and highest numbers as though they cover the same grade. Read each school’s fee-structure row, then request the exact grade invoice. Registration, meals, transport, books, support and external examinations can materially change the first-year and recurring totals.

// 02 · The decision framework

Five questions.
Five answers.

1. Which curriculum and teaching language fit the child?

Phoenix Wittaya publishes the Thai Basic Education Core Curriculum with a Cambridge-aligned bilingual programme for ages 2–17+; ISC Pattaya publishes EYFS and the English National Curriculum through Key Stage 2 for ages 2–11. Ask for a current weekly timetable, not only a curriculum logo, so you can see which subjects are actually taught in each language.

2. Which number belongs to the child’s exact grade?

Phoenix Wittaya publishes ฿147,600/yr standard tuition for Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary; Nursery ฿12,000/month is not annualised; ISC Pattaya publishes ฿180,000–฿370,800/yr standard tuition; 3% annual prepayment: ฿174,600–฿359,676. Compare the grade-specific total after mandatory registration and extras, not the endpoints alone. If the range covers very different ages, the child’s own row matters more than either endpoint.

3. Is the fee evidence current enough for a commitment?

Phoenix Wittaya: primary-undated, checked 27 July 2026. ISC Pattaya: 2026/27, checked 27 July 2026. The comparison uses standard published tuition before full-year-payment discounts; discounted figures are labelled as such. A primary-undated schedule is school-published but cannot safely be assigned to an academic year. Save the dated school document or email alongside the offer.

4. Does the school cover the family’s full time horizon?

Compare each published age span with the year your child needs. If either school ends before graduation, shortlist the next school and price that transition now. Phoenix Wittaya: no boarding in the record. ISC Pattaya: no boarding in the record.

5. What belongs in the written admissions quote?

Ask both schools for a dated, grade-specific invoice separating tuition, registration, deposit, meals, transport, books, uniforms, support and examination charges. Also confirm the teaching language, qualification route and next transfer point in writing.

Summary verdict

  • Phoenix Wittaya deserves the shortlist when its published curriculum, age span and total grade-specific invoice fit the child.
  • ISC Pattaya deserves the shortlist when its published curriculum, age span and total grade-specific invoice fit better.
// 03 · make the offers comparable

Price the same child.
Plan the primary exit.

ISC supplies a detailed 2026/27 fee schedule and ends after Year 6; Phoenix currently supplies no public tariff but records a wider age span. Families need a written Phoenix quote and a clear curriculum-progression explanation before either price or continuity can be compared.

Pin down the offered programme

Phoenix records the Thai Basic Education Core Curriculum and a Cambridge-aligned bilingual programme. Ask which programme the child would join, the official year or grade, the language used for each subject and how the school documents progress. Request a current timetable and samples of work from the actual proposed class. “Cambridge-aligned” should not be treated as confirmation of a Cambridge qualification, registration or examination route without specific written evidence.

ISC publishes English National Curriculum, EYFS and Key Stages 1–2 for ages 2–11 and is independently listed as NEASC-accredited since 2025. Ask how the child’s previous work maps to the proposed British year and how ISC prepares records for a later Year 7 transfer. Accreditation provides institutional evidence; the classroom visit still needs to establish teaching fit.

Compare attendance before tuition

ISC’s early-years schedule includes two- through five-day attendance and half- or full-day choices. Match the Phoenix quote to the same weekly days and core hours. Record meals, rest, collection and extended-care times, then compare the classroom the child will actually attend. A part-time ISC endpoint cannot fairly be placed beside a full-time Phoenix offer.

During both visits, observe how instructions move between languages, how teachers support children who do not understand immediately, and what happens when pupils finish at different speeds. Ask for class staffing and size in the offered class rather than a schoolwide average. For an older primary pupil, examine current reading, writing and mathematics work at the relevant level.

Build a complete cost record

ISC’s 2026/27 annual figures include a 3% full-year prepayment discount. Early Years ranges from ฿174,600 for two half-days to ฿263,646 for five full days; Reception is ฿295,074, Years 1–2 are ฿342,216 and Years 3–6 are ฿359,676. Term-by-term totals are 3% higher. One-time application is ฿3,000, registration is ฿70,000 and annual insurance is ฿2,000.

ISC also publishes lunch at ฿9,360–฿21,960, transport at ฿52,580–฿200,000 by zone and EAL or learning support at ฿21,000–฿70,000 annually. Select only the services relevant to the child, but compare standard term-by-term tuition before separately recording the annual-prepayment discount and its cash-timing effect.

Phoenix remains fees on application because its previously cited tariff domain now resolves to an unrelated site. Request tuition, application, registration, deposit, meals, transport, books, uniforms, insurance, trips, devices, examinations, clubs and support in writing. The quote must name the child’s grade, programme, academic year, due dates, notice requirements and refund rules. Do not use old Phoenix figures or infer a range from another school.

Put transfer planning into the decision

ISC’s route ends after Year 6, so identify at least two credible Year 7 destinations before enrolment. Ask ISC where recent pupils moved, when applications began and which reports or assessments receiving schools used. Price the likely commute and current fee band at those destinations without assuming a place will be available years later.

Phoenix’s broader recorded age span may reduce the need for an age-11 move, but continuity needs evidence. Ask how its bilingual and Thai routes progress through secondary, what qualifications the current programme is designed to produce and which destinations recent leavers used. A longer age range is not automatically the clearer pathway.

Rehearse a move in two years for both offers. Ask what transcript, curriculum record and language evidence each school would supply, and ask a likely receiving school how it would place the child. This tests year equivalence and recognition while the family still has choices.

Resolve support and the daily journey

ISC publishes support price bands, while Phoenix currently publishes no support tariff. Ask both schools who assesses need, what help occurs inside the classroom, frequency, group size, review date, outside-specialist involvement and cost. A published price does not guarantee suitability, and a missing price does not establish that provision is included.

Drive to Phoenix in Nong Prue and ISC in Banglamung Soi 39 at the intended drop-off and pickup times. Include work, siblings and activities. Obtain exact bus timing, supervision and price where transport is considered, then place both journeys beside the school calendars and care coverage.

Save each offer, calendar, payment schedule and placement email in one comparison pack. Review every unknown before the acceptance deadline and ask admissions to correct any inconsistency between the tour conversation and the written terms.

The final record should contain exact placement, classroom evidence, complete first-year and recurring costs, support, travel and the next pathway checkpoint. Resolve written contradictions before paying. Until Phoenix supplies a current written tariff, it cannot honestly be labelled cheaper or more expensive than ISC.
