1. Which university system is your child heading for?

If the United States — Common App, SAT on schedule, AP-style credit accumulation — ISE is the directory's established American AERO-to-IB route, with MAP/PSAT/SAT built into the academic year and WASC accreditation since 1999. Wells Chonburi is the other American-curriculum record, but it does not publish ISE's established IB pathway. If the UK specifically, with UCAS and A-Level subject specialisation at 16, MIS is the direct British pathway. IB Diploma at ISE is accepted by UK universities routinely — so ISE is not off the table for UK-bound families — but A-Levels are MIS's native credential.

2. IB Diploma or A-Level at Sixth Form?

ISE offers IB Diploma at Grades 11–12 (฿646,000/yr tuition) — six subjects, Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay, CAS. Students can also finish on the American high-school diploma without IB. MIS runs Cambridge A-Level only — specialise into three or four subjects. If you want the breadth and global portability of IB, ISE. If you want the focused British exam route at lower all-in cost, MIS Y12 at ฿609,000 (incl. supplementary) vs ISE IB at ฿646,000 tuition alone — but you are buying different exit credentials.

3. Sriracha commute or Nongprue Pattaya-side — which works?

MIS in Nongprue suits families in inland Banglamung, Huai Yai, or east Pattaya — typically 15–20 minutes from Jomtien. Same postal area as TPIS and BPIS. ISE in Bowin suits Sriracha, Laem Chabang, and Bowin itself — 30–40 minutes from central Pattaya depending on traffic, inside a gated golf-club community. A Pattaya-beach family busing to ISE daily is a different calculus than a Sriracha industrial-zone family. Neither school is walkable from the coast.

4. Small-school intimacy or Montessori Early Years + transparent fees?

ISE publishes a student-to-teacher ratio below 8:1, while current grade and graduating-cohort sizes are not published. That ratio suggests a small setting but does not prove every class size or activity cohort; ask for the exact grade and subject numbers. MIS is mid-band Established with a structural differentiator no other Pattaya-region school shares: proper Montessori methodology layered onto British EYFS for ages 2–5. If Montessori Early Years matters for your toddler, MIS is the only option in this directory. MIS also publishes the most itemised fee structure — tuition split from compulsory supplementary, published ELS tiers, nine bus zones. Budget-conscious families who want to see every line item before enrolling often prefer MIS's transparency.

5. WASC American heritage or Cambridge British at the affordability end?

ISE carries 30+ years of WASC accreditation and IBDP authorisation since 2004 — the longest American+IB track record in the directory. MIS sits at the affordability end of full British 2–18: at Year 7, MIS all-in ฿442,500 vs ISE G6–8 tuition ฿600,500 alone — roughly ฿160K/yr gap before ISE extras. What you trade: no IB option, no WASC, smaller campus, no global-network operating layer. Summary verdict

• Choose ISE Sriracha if: your child is on an American curriculum track or wants IB Diploma at Sixth Form; you live east of Pattaya (Sriracha/Bowin/Laem Chabang); you value a small school (current enrolment not published) where your child is known by name; and WASC + IBO accreditation history matters for your risk calculus.
• Choose MIS Nongprue if: you want British IGCSE → A-Level with Montessori methodology in Early Years; you need a Pattaya-side commute (Nongprue); transparent tuition + supplementary fee breakdown matters for budgeting; lower all-in fees at most year-groups fit your band; and Cambridge A-Level at ฿609K all-in (Y12) suits your budget better than IB at ฿646K tuition.

Build two complete offers before choosing

Give both admissions teams the same child profile: proposed start date, current year group, reports, home languages, intended university system, support needs and home address. Ask each school to reply with the proposed class, assessment steps, senior qualification route, standard tuition, mandatory annual charges, first-year fees, transport and withdrawal conditions. This prevents ISE’s tuition-only headline from being compared with MIS’s more itemised tuition-plus-supplementary structure.

At ISE, add lunch, bus, uniform, IB examination fees and any assessed EAL charge to the published tuition. At MIS, keep tuition and compulsory supplementary charges on separate labelled lines, then add transport, meals, uniform, examinations and any English-language support. Unknown is not zero. Ask whether each amount is annual, termly, optional, compulsory or refundable, and record the payment date beside any discount.

Test the senior route at subject level

ISE families should confirm the American high-school diploma and IB Diploma choices, prerequisites, subject availability, counselling sequence and examination charges for the intended cohort. MIS families should request the current IGCSE and Cambridge A-Level subject list, entry requirements, timetable constraints and examination arrangements. “IB” and “A-Level” describe frameworks; the child needs the subjects that make the framework usable.

For a younger pupil, ask how each primary programme builds toward those later routes without allowing a distant qualification to outweigh present classroom fit. Visit the exact year group and compare teacher feedback, independent work, language demands and support. If Montessori Early Years is central at MIS, observe what that means in the proposed class rather than relying on the label alone.

Put the commute into the weekly timetable

Run both routes during school traffic and obtain an exact bus quote to the home address. Record pickup time, ride duration, after-activity returns and the effect on sleep and homework. ISE’s Bowin location may be efficient for a Sriracha-based household and difficult from coastal Pattaya; MIS may reverse that trade. The defensible choice is the school whose curriculum, complete invoice, subject route and ordinary weekday all work together.
